'New' has an objective standard, while 'best' is entirely subjective and tends toward subjective hierarchies. I prefer to ask "What moves you now?" which combines the advantages of contemporaneity (new) with subjective appreciation (best) and the acceptance of change. Silt moves left here, right there, ever downstream.
