how do we solve the cold start problem on farcaster?

I.e, if you know people you will have a great time, if you don't, not so much.

There are a lot of non crypto friends of mine who I've onboarded but they don't have fun bc im the only person they know

Farcaster is a good place to make friends!
Of course, it's hard. Most will fallback to places that they already know or are vouched by their existing social circles.

That's why, I think, Farcaster is so exciting right now:
it's full of curious and eager people.

Let's enjoy this unique phase before mass adoption :)
