the uptime calculator for Solana is awfully convenient—100% uptime, woohoo! Except it only takes the last three months into its calculation. And there's no way to calculate the uptime from before that. All you get is a calendar view of past incidents, so... Since may 4 2021, according to this tweet (https://x.com/BSCNews/status/1755227503252111530) Solana has been down for 64.5 hours out of 27744 hours (1156 days). That's an uptime of 99.75%, which according to chat GPT is not even acceptable for consumer apps. And we are supposed to trust it with the world's financial infrastructure?

yes, their past reliability was bad. but i think it's v important not to be complacent about Solana. - no guarantee they'll continue to be unreliable. maybe they've figured it out. - they are ahead on UX - they are live players and shipping fast i want ethereum to win, but it's not preordained

SolanaPay is a shared standard vs one per wallet Phantom feels snappier than eth wallets And partial privacy via token extensions (PYUSD secret balances and transfer amounts, etc) means they might have more fundamental UX advantages soon
