for me 

1.) be very patient when making decisions
2.) you can do most things by yourself (learned this from solo traveling). Invite who you want to come with but you doing xyz shouldn't rely on the response. It's also totally fine if they participate later (encouraged actually!) 
3.) everyone is in their own head as much as I am
4.) just starting is the hardest step, everything else is much easier
