random hot take the reason I liked farcaster so much when I joined was I was able to meet and get to know a new group of people that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to know. today its just not the same, there's not a lot of new content that I look at and go "woah", lately x has been doing for me biggest need IMO is to bring more of this to the network, especially since distribution is so much better on x. this has more views than most if not all of my top casts here, and i have 312 x followers and 54k farcaster followers -> (https://x.com/kw0ETH/status/1871648585894564035) a lot of it boils down to giving net new users a reason to try it out, using crypto in a positive sum way is one direction, warpcast rewards is a great example of this. I'd argue it would be good to go further, one way off the top of my head could be using some/all of the $2.8 million ETH in the storage registry for developer/creator incentives -> which creates new experiences -> which creates new content

I feel this. Warpcast feels openly hostile to new accounts these days.

wdym openly hostile? i want to discover new accounts / new content, too, to improve my experience… this is important for me to understand so i can provide actionable feedback to the team in hopes of it getting better.

Yes. I don't think the people are hostile, but the algorithm is. Power badges maybe hidden, but they still exist and still matter. So far when I recruit someone from X, then go back after a few weeks because they feel that their content isn't being seen, and they have no chance of meaningfully contributing to degen/Moxie/ham communities without dropping a few grand. We just need a gentler onboarding ramp to get people new people fully involved from the get go. IMO a way to get autofollowed by anyone who already follows you on Twitter, Insta would be huge. People don't want to start over, and no one feels early to Farcaster anymore.

Mhm, and I think making finding your existing network on Farcaster easier would be massive. No one with 100k followers on another platform can afford the time sink of a brand new Farcaster account that will be in hidden replies for months. And those are the expert content creators we want to make the feed more valuable/entertaining. I was attracted to Farcaster because the idea of a FID making it the LAST platform I would have to build on was attractive. People need a viable exit ramp from web2 socials to Farcaster.
