📣 seeking help/advice in the art of warpcast

aka I am new here and deeply confused in almost every way LOL. was told sharing the details of my experience so far might be of interest!

to start, hi hi I'm keridwen!

I'm one of the high witches of @cryptocoven, but notably the only one to come from a non-technical background. I'm a writer + wrote the original witch descriptions and lore. I have learned a ton about web3 but would still put me in the bucket of "uses wallet with intense trepidation" lol

I've been out of the loop working on a longform project (building!) and come up for air in the past month excited to get back in the swing of things. warpcast was stop #1, I hear word of cool things happening here + see familiar faces (been seeking out my witch pfp brethren)

tried at first to onboard on desktop but seemingly all roads led to QR code and mobile. I like to do all my crypto happenings on desktop so this was a hurdle but one I was willing to jump. I can see warpcast on desktop?? but not create an account there? @nyx calls to say she uses desktop and doesn't know why I can't

I believe this largely worked & did find some people to connect with there, but ran into some glitchiness in the actual composer and got scared off. aaaand then when I came back I believe some large update happened to how that whole system works lol. clean slate!!

err okay actually just went back and at the time I did not see it as a clean slate and got scared again

but I sought help!!! and the recommendation was to make my own channel, and that channels were the name of the game here

so I found that button and I do not have enough of something called warps. okay. what are warps.

so I find the warps menu and when I go to buy warps it sends me an email. email recommends these quantities. I still don't really know what a warp is but I figure I'll start with the lowest quantity and see what happens – idk how many warps I need to make a channel

good news: I am the proud owner of 500 warps 😌😘🙂‍↕️

bad news: it is not enough warps aldkdjjfks and I do not know what other use I could have for warps

so I am rich in warps but poor in knowledge. I want to promote my new project (a serialized onchain novel in the world of @cryptocoven ) but I'm not sure if the right move is a channel? for an undisclosed warp amount. or a second account? that I apparently need to pay $10/month to access? (found a post here about @supercast)

update: my number of warps has doubled from gifts in the few hours since writing this 🥹. I spoke into the void and found kindness! slash @adrienne, kindness incarnate!

continuing my warpcast adventure: woke up today with 1400 warps from kindly strangers. lovely!! 

I want to make my channel today, so I plan to buy an additional 1100 to reach the channel cost of 2500. I figure I'll do this in 3 batches of 500, as that's the lowest amount and I don't need the next tier, a full 2500

I successfully purchase 500 from a new email with no trouble. excellent. I go to buy a second set of 500, and ponder asking for a last 100 gift to put me right at where I need to be. except!! the 500 link only takes me to my purchase confirmation. I refresh, try a new browser, and try sending a new email. all take me here

at this point I regret to report I just give up and buy the next tier, 2500 💀. we are launching tomorrow and I would love to make a channel for my novel Fig at least the day before. 

once again rich in warps but poor in knowledge haha. but!! this time with a custom channel baby!!

thank you to everyone who has gifted me warps in the last 24 hours :)) 

now seeking advice on how/when to do the same – how should I continue this circle of generosity now that I am accidentally warp heavy?

I make a mobile account with no issue – yay! I see people are posting in topic/categories – okay! what is that? should I do that?

I don't at first because that's what I'm used to, but then branch out and try. I'll do "nft" because that's where people would know me from.

I also use desktop…but I did need to sign up on mobile.
