why is the search in obsidian so bad? it seems to be getting worse (in particular: inconsistent and incomplete indexing)

Not sure — I am not able to reproduce your issue. In my vault with 14k+ files the scenario you describe works fine.

yep just checked and it was not match case was not activated

i installed omnisearch and it is indexing now — maybe this will solve? will report

the easiest issue to describe is:
- there is a note, filename "purplecowsrule.md"
- a search (general, not filename or path) for "purple" does not return a result that includes this note
- the results list also omits some (but not all) other files where "purple" is in the file body text but not the filename

i'm not sure how i can share the case without sharing the archive. is there a way?
