I'm long electric cycling. Bikes are a technology, electric ones are better. Tour De France and others would be 10x more interesting with electric bikes and constraints like only battery per race and a weight limit. Tradeoffs and strategy become fascinating while improving the tech. Athletes still have to athlete.

races could be longer distance. motorcycles have the iron butt challenge which requires days of endurance. with powered machines races become contests of mental endurance
