the positives outweigh the negatives though, no? like giving everyone on earth a 24/7 connectivity device to understand each other and know each other better is long term a great thing imo the negatives come from the phones ability to help us gather information about how fucked up the systems we live under are

I'm guilty of this too in my critiques of existing use cases, a lot of this is tinged with "well I live in a wealthy western country and it hasn't changed my life so the use cases aren't there yet"

in the future the saddest thing isn't going to be people who didn't pay attention to crypto early it's going to be people that paid attention, interacted heavily with the industry, and came to the conclusion "yeah it'll only ever be good for gambling"
