The good critiques get plenty of distribution. People here crave good, intellectually honest takes. The issue is most “critiques” are mid.

most of the "Farcaster/Base is amazing" posts on here are mid too but a mid "Farcaster/Base is amazing" post will get substantially more play than a mid critique that's the point, there's bias in what the audience wants

Positive posts about the social network people are using and tech stack they are building on does well with people building in a space that’s moving at a frustratingly slow pace get engagement. News at 11.

well yeah exactly which is why I don't see why my OG post is that controversial lol this place has its favored topics, it's ok to admit that, we don't have to say "actually Farcaster is totally unbiased you guys just aren't doing it right"

My point is good takes on what Farcaster (or Base) could be doing better get plenty of engagement. It doesn’t have to be ra ra. Challenge is less problem identification (vast majority of critiques) and more is there a good proposed solution. Very few people want to spend the time (understandably since not much upside) proposing a solution that tries to take into account all the relevant trade-offs. If it was obvious, it would already be done. Secondary: a lot of folks who do critiques either 1) shut down or 2) ad hominem when they get a bit of public push back.
