blindly following the surface can make you miss important things

well yeah that's the point tho

those people tell you they prefer music at the party, but you ignore their stated preference

and then you mess up analyzing the wrong "revealed" data instead (rate of dancing)

ehhh but ~100% of people probably prefer having music at the party than not having it, even if they dont dance

generally like this line of thinking though. blindly following *anything* is a trap
