in the future the saddest thing isn't going to be people who didn't pay attention to crypto early it's going to be people that paid attention, interacted heavily with the industry, and came to the conclusion "yeah it'll only ever be good for gambling"

lot of people don’t known it because it's not in the open but there are a couple groups providing at least a bit financial freedom through crypto to especially women in countries where they aren’t even allowed their own bank account. and there are more "hidden" use cases like that. just one example. small steps.

I'm guilty of this too in my critiques of existing use cases, a lot of this is tinged with "well I live in a wealthy western country and it hasn't changed my life so the use cases aren't there yet"

oh we all are. I live in such a country myself but am trying to look beyond because fighting for financial freedom & being your own bank affects us all. definitely could save the world that’s why it’s so dangerous. and some just don’t realize it yet to it’s full extent. it’s already live changing for a /1.

lot of people. majority of these use-case projects I'm referring to just don’t have the international platform and attention (sometimes it’s better this way). Machankura for example. providing btc access to couple african countries & thousands of users on their pre-smartphone mobiles & w/o internet connection. /2.

or for example workers in UAE being able to send their remittances back home pretty safe through crypto in lightning speed and making it available in an instance. that could have taken up to weeks some times ago. just to name some. /3.
