Money is the problem, but only because the reason people show up here is for money. Sure there are people who care about the tech but most people here are motivated by greed which makes it impossible to sustain anything.

Idk man what's your control group? I've seen plenty of governance systems that thrive without money involved. And plenty that have seen money come, go and come again without issue.

agreed, we can make something that works even with infinite greed. it's much more feasible than a system that can handle infinite desire to overrule. luckily governance has already learned lessons like ragequit, but the challenge of "proving the entire works" is incomplete, and that is a critical bulwark against fait accompli from greed or desire to overrule.
