Twitter is upstream of all other social networks for "the discourse". All the "shadowy cabal chat groups" are 80% "post link to tweet and discuss". Only way to "beat" Twitter is play a different game. New composable primitives powered by crypto (which make it harder for incumbents to copy). Channels that enable cozy corners yet are public, permissionless and composable.

thinking out-loud here: people post on X because they know they will get more eyeballs people won't move from X until quality of eyeballs matters right now it doesn't bc there's no good way to determine quality of eyeballs maybe social scores will be the element that moves marketers to identify quality and then pressure influencers to care about them from there they can see that 1k likes on FC is worth more than 15k likes on X

In my opinion, quantity doesn’t determine quality. And there’s no proper measure of quality because it depends on perspective. My definition of quality may not be what you deem to be quality. It may be next to impossible to measure or determine quality. if the assurance of quality for a wide array of audience exists, the problem may be solved.

very true ithink we'd eventually leave it to marketers to decide what's quality (in this context) since they're the ones paying for the eyeballs (that's what they buy from influencers... which ultimately means that's the motivation for influencers creating tweets) so if marketers can use social score or something similar to determine that certain types of ppl are worth more... they become quality for purposes of generating content
