if there was a default filter for $<WORD> to be hidden, this place would probably a lot more approachable to regular folks.

I scrolled a few random channels with specific topics and all of them had stuff about airdrops for $TOKEN etc. it's a turn off and also vectors for fake scams etc. sure it'd hide Degen and other things but letting it be opt in would help keep things about real things in channels vs all of them being booted with random token nonsense.

Yeah actually. I remember sometime February when this was a hot topic then. People were spamming degen in basically every other channel and there kind of a move to restrict those type of casts to the /degen channel. It’s very easy for $TOKEN to erode the quality of content and conversation that is present on Warpcast and while this may not be the best approach to solve it, I still think it’s something that should be addressed.

I think giving the user a choice when joining and an option to swap it out would go a long way.

Where the major problem lies is the fact that Warpcast is basically running on the tipping meta as a way to reward content. It won’t be easy to implement a fix like that
