Talking with my Russian neighbor and he likened the USA to the Weimar Republic off handedly which prompted a discussion 

I said “Weimar? What about 90s Russia?” (He lived there then so right guy to ask)

He rejected it saying that it was still too functional overall here (“The roads are still getting fixed”) but conceded on corruption or tendency towards corruption being similar

I will ask him directly and tell you what he says, but I think very much so yes. He gets to work with JWST data, go to Moto GP down the street, and get a motorcycle license trivially 😊

I just asked him and he feels he's getting unhappier but it has nothing to do with the country 😆 

I guessed right though. He loves motorcycles and followed this up by telling me he was so happy how easy it was for him to get a bike here vs Europe

Aww I don’t like he’s not as happy but happy about the bike. I didn’t know bikes were like guns

He’s permanently scarred by the Danish drivers license process I think 😝
