I tied my shoes too tight during a 🏃♀️ race last year, and as a result lost a toenail a few weeks ago Even though it wasn’t painful at any point I lost my mind when it first happened and was late to a party as I dawdled around my apartment freaking out about being able to touch the soft skin under the nail. I carefully protected it (from what I don’t even know). But now that it’s been gone awhile I don’t care anymore and it’s kind of fascinating. When you lose a nail an almost shadow nail forms. The skin changes. I am watching myself heal from an injury I have never experienced before. Is this how people who break a bone for the first time feel? Will probably be another 6 months before I have anything resembling a nail there.

Remember getting one of my toenails ripped off in a bike accident when I was younger. Didn't feel it, but that's only because I lost the skin on my elbows and knees and I was busy freaking out about that.

OMG. It grew back right 😱 Mine took 4 months to die and fall off. It was not violently removed which sounds super painful

Yeah it grew back, thank god! But it took A YEAR for it to grow back fully. Definitely a nightmare I never want to go through again.
