Last night me and 2 of my neighbors went down the street together to 7-11 and watched a lady throw her full fountain drink at the cashier’s head while screaming, and then her probable boyfriend came in to further threaten the guy and rough him up. 

No one intervened and no police were called because by now there is implicit knowledge nothing will happen between long 911 wait times, understaffed police, and cite + release policies

I romanticize my past history in other cities but people tell me to stop — they are all Just Like This now or so I am told

you didn’t intervene? like at all? did you check on the cashier afterwards?

Not a single soul intervened and to be honest it would have been dangerous to. Intervention would have almost certainly been an escalation. 

I expect these people to have guns; none of us were armed. I didnt even have my normal pepper spray because i was with friends. Even if they didn’t have weapons on a sheer size level both of the offenders were physically much larger than me or any of my friends. 

It became clear within maybe 5min of the offenders exiting only psychological damage was done so that’s good

I am not sure about immediate aftermath as I was out of eyesight. Ted, I hid or tried to hide. But I can confirm the cashier was fine when I exited the store

but did anyone check on the cashier after???
