piece dated 2011 I’ve recently come to believe all these millennial tech heroes are washed now. All the great stuff is a decade old. All the new stuff you share out of respect and nostalgia for the old stuff I have a burgeoning thesis that it’s impossible to think good thoughts when you’re on top Your money and/or power isolate you too much, and you’re no longer able to relate to a normal person or speak truth to power

Miley Cyrus has a famous interview where she talks about how she doesn’t go on tour because the daily ego stoking and the constant subject/viewer relationship she has with an audience in that environment makes her a bad songwriter and unable to connect on a human level

i think about this a lot (as someone who is not exceptionally wealth or powerful), many of my best takes were blog posts/tweets from 10+ years ago. am i out of juice now? or is it going to take me another 10 years to appreciate some of what i'm spewing today? or maybe i need to move on and do whatever olds do
