It’s a gotcha because Trump himself did not say this — Elon and his cronies did — I don’t believe there is or was broad awareness about the expectation of economic suffering among his voter base. To blithely be like “well we all voted for it” is not the case 

Elon now has proven he is shadow president and will get what he wants when he wants it — and what he wants is chiefly in his best interest alone. He is not trustable
