It is wild how not protectionist software engineers are. There’s so much pressure, from AI doing your work and empowering generalists like me to capital telling you they simply must import unlimited cheaper labor. And yall are like bring it on!!

I've benefited so much in so many ways from open-source software. I feel an obligation to pay it forward. OSS is also auditable, advancing us toward trustless ecosystems. I've also benefited from experienced engineers taking time to educate me - yet another need to pay it forward. There are a lot of reasons for me to raise the tide that lifted my ship. Protectionism would have hindered me, and I can't, in good conscience, do otherwise.

Plus, every person I help become a better engineer means there's more people in the world who won't go "deer in the headlights" when I talk about zk proofs, so there's a bit of self-serving benefit there. 😛
