TBH your post on X stuck with me a bit, but I was not sure how to respond.

We do live in the society you describe, and I’m just much more willing to rail against it than you seem to be.

I see the apathy our world causes and it makes me sad. The only reaction that works for me is to fight.  Otherwise I would be sad and angry all the time (and that does happen in long stretches).

Your not alone. This why I advocate for healthy learning environments for Ai. I believe its the biggest contribution we can make in our efforts to nurture this amazing new technology.
We also have more battles of good vs evil as quantum computing and brain chip implants become more intrusive.
Sometimes you need the money to scale your causes. I think its ok to take the money if you do good for humanity with it. 🫶🏼
