It’s worth raising an eyebrow at this just because it affects many of us personally, but when one is honest they realize tech is not a very “dangerous class”. Not like … lawyers https://www.niskanencenter.org/are-we-overproducing-elites-and-instability/

Mao was a history teacher though Lenin was a lawyer for 3 years( he was in school longer than he was a practicing lawyer because he got kicked out for political activities) and was basically a public defender Castro co founded a legal firm that focused on representing poor Cubans and went under after two years and he went off to do revolutionary stuff. Not super elitist though

Elite here does not mean economic elite or even elitist but highly educated, literate, intelligent etc

We are creating too many elite aspirants without roles for them to take, or roles they believe they are worthy of, setting up the conditions for them to be disaffected and drive instability. Turchin feels lawyers in particular due to the nature of their training and the historical precedents would be effective leaders of any such movement
