Havenā€™t seen any talk about the DOGE website launching w/o proper security policies here Itā€™s easy to dunk on, but the reality is theyā€™re clearly going to learn everything the hard way Something sensitive will get turned off or be exposed and all I hope is that it doesnā€™t kill someone in service to our nation

Itā€™s funny how people ignore the huge number at the top of the website and then find something small to critique instead of the fact BILLIONS of tax dollars were being stolen and he is the only person to ever stop that.

ā€œOnly person to ever stop thatā€ is an insane thing to say man. The number on top of the website is a big ā€œtrust me broā€ from a group of people with zero context about how government systems work who have already walked back some of the wilder headline claims (after they had their intended destabilizing effect) Do I think tax dollars get misused? For sure, same as it ever was. Do I think Elon is personally defending me, my values, and my country? No way. After a certain point, a billionaire fundamentally cannot empathize with somebody outside their tax bracket because their experience of reality is so aggressively different than a normal persons. He hasnā€™t had an existential concern in decades.

You would choose to spend your tax dollars on this? $2.5M for "inclusive democracies in Southern Africaā€ $47M for "improving learning outcomes in Asiaā€ $2M to develop "sustainable recycling models" to "increase socio-economic cohesion among marginalized communities of Kosovo Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptā€ Thatā€™s a legit question you should be able to answer because itā€™s black or white yes or no.

Broadly yes. Iā€™m legitimately unconcerned because we both know one sentence doesnā€™t describe whatā€™s actually happening and if Iā€™m being super real I generally assume that a 3 letter agency is using these programs as cover to do something useful for us. If the solution is just ā€œcutting the spendingā€ for its own sake, itā€™s not compelling to me because Iā€™m under no delusion Iā€™ll get back anything meaningful on my taxes. If there is a tangible thing that the money is guaranteed to go towards instead (which we generally know canā€™t happen bc thatā€™s not how appropriations work) Iā€™d be happy to compare programs on those merits But Iā€™m not in a slash for slashings sake camp because I think thatā€™s effectively bread and games for people that LARP as small government diehards Again, I think reasonable people can disagree about that. https://warpcast.com/cameron/0x6c91b96f

Appreciate the thoughtful replies even if we disagree <3 This is our big disconnect: "I generally assume that a 3 letter agency is using these programs as cover to do something useful for us. " USAID is actually a slush fund for the CIA (outside the oversight of Congress) and that every single one of these payments is actually a defacto intelligence operation, which has nothing to do with serving Americans and in fact its being used to destablize the world, this is what the CIA does. The other half of the funds are being routed to NGOs which funneled into PACS which then go straight to DC politicians pockets. Elon is not just randomly cutting spending, they rooted these systems and they see the real entire picture and they know what USAID actually is. The good thing is -- this will all come to light or be proven false in the next 6 months. They have receipts for everything. https://x.com/ashleyrindsberg/status/1886446854621045166?s=46

Where do you draw the line for congressional oversight being good or bad for spending? If we extend the logic a little bit, the EO wave, most of the Trump admin actions, and Elon himself all fall under that bucket of problematic. If itā€™s just bc heā€™s on your team, it doesnā€™t hold much water to me yknow?

I was a lifelong Democrat and then quit voting. I donā€™t support Trump. We could have this convo and remove the names Trump and Elon and any party and just talk about numbers and my argument wouldnā€™t change. USAID was genuinely a CIA slush fund and every single one of those payments were funding intelligence operations abroad. This is an open secret in DC. The other half were given to DC politicians thru NGOs to buy houses and go on ski trips, we are talking billions to dollars. The average taxpayer pays $20k a year. How many peoples tax payments did it take to fund these payments? If this was a Democrat doing this (which they created it literally so it would never be) then everyone would be cheering. But itā€™s not because that side of the broken 2 party system is the one that the intelligence agencies have control of. They are pedophiles and 50% of them are going to be on the Epstein list. This is how they control them and this is how USAID existed.
