Havenāt seen any talk about the DOGE website launching w/o proper security policies here Itās easy to dunk on, but the reality is theyāre clearly going to learn everything the hard way Something sensitive will get turned off or be exposed and all I hope is that it doesnāt kill someone in service to our nation

Itās funny how people ignore the huge number at the top of the website and then find something small to critique instead of the fact BILLIONS of tax dollars were being stolen and he is the only person to ever stop that.

āOnly person to ever stop thatā is an insane thing to say man. The number on top of the website is a big ātrust me broā from a group of people with zero context about how government systems work who have already walked back some of the wilder headline claims (after they had their intended destabilizing effect) Do I think tax dollars get misused? For sure, same as it ever was. Do I think Elon is personally defending me, my values, and my country? No way. After a certain point, a billionaire fundamentally cannot empathize with somebody outside their tax bracket because their experience of reality is so aggressively different than a normal persons. He hasnāt had an existential concern in decades.

You would choose to spend your tax dollars on this? $2.5M for "inclusive democracies in Southern Africaā $47M for "improving learning outcomes in Asiaā $2M to develop "sustainable recycling models" to "increase socio-economic cohesion among marginalized communities of Kosovo Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptā Thatās a legit question you should be able to answer because itās black or white yes or no.

Broadly yes. Iām legitimately unconcerned because we both know one sentence doesnāt describe whatās actually happening and if Iām being super real I generally assume that a 3 letter agency is using these programs as cover to do something useful for us. If the solution is just ācutting the spendingā for its own sake, itās not compelling to me because Iām under no delusion Iāll get back anything meaningful on my taxes. If there is a tangible thing that the money is guaranteed to go towards instead (which we generally know canāt happen bc thatās not how appropriations work) Iād be happy to compare programs on those merits But Iām not in a slash for slashings sake camp because I think thatās effectively bread and games for people that LARP as small government diehards Again, I think reasonable people can disagree about that. https://warpcast.com/cameron/0x6c91b96f

all cited USAID waste figures and "shock stats" that ive seen, cumulatively, including your 3 above, add up to less than 500m, which is 1% of the *annual* USAID budget all this outrage about specific line items is arguing over a rounding error, it's like getting a divorce because your spouse donates $10 to charity

Thatās like 5 days of Elon payments from the gov. Iād rather fund vague education and democracy objectives overseas tbh.
