🤷🏾♂️ I’ve been spending so much on FC storage without actually understanding how it works, and at some point, it felt pointless to keep on buying it. Anyways , I just found this insightful cast that breaks down how storage actually works on Farcaster, explaining how storage limits, payments, and message pruning are all handled. Ya it’s not gonna work decentralized. They gotta change course to much more sufficiently centralized imo.

Also leaning into serial scammers and obvious Ponzi schemes like @moxie.eth was a seriously bad move and did irreparable damage to the ecosystem.

pros n cons! i personally agree that people will not endlessly pay for storage so they need some solution. i also do not particularly care about decentralization. i think it's mostly a buzzword that sounds better in theory than it is in practice in most situations and only works in specific circumstances. currently they're toeing some weird line where they claim they want to be decentralized but it's very much not and so i dunno. i just cast here ;) 50 $degen
