An update on protocol priorities going into 2025. 

We think a lot of interesting things are going to be built onchain soon. Farcaster should be the programmable and credibly neutral social network that brings users, developers and blockchains together. 

But what does this mean tangibly?

I think Merkle will never really need to hire for BD. 

If the protocol keeps building cool shit - devs will come and make cool shit - then qdau will increase (@clanker a gud example) 

Still not needed and completely agree with the priorities, not that anyone asked.

Agree - I think at some point - you’d want to sell Farcaster to businesses and influencers to use the network to grow their following - but that can likely be done by an independent Ad Agency first.

This made me remember Sandwich Video back in like 2017 they were this boutique shop in SF and you gave them like 100k and they returned a magical video and 100k users. Something fun and tongue in cheek but way later on would be cool.

Definitely think there’s a business there. 

Could probably start by targeting crypto firms and the Ad agency could promise to grow their Farcaster account and audience. A good strategy would return meaningful users I believe. Solana would be a great client to start with.
