Social networks need a decentralized solution if it involves gating people from access. Coinbase is a bank and notoriously censored and limits transactions. Horrible example to reach for. Neynar is not comparable to Alchemy because Alchemy doesn’t decide when users can and can’t use a service. I just don’t see how Neynar isn’t the same as web2 rails.

Farcaster has hubs. Neynar doesn't gate keep as you can use hubs. We'll see how Farcaster gate keeping goes with Snapchain, but as of writing this spin up a hub -> post yourself. I also haven't heard of Neynar deplatforming anyone

Yea I really didn’t get this core concept. It makes sense now. I was never attacking neynar, I’m just attacking centralization as a concept. I thought they set the score thresholds tbh which I was wrong.

Score ? Meaning ranking used by devs yeah thats then specific to apps like clanker but not a limitation on the farcaster protocol or neynar itself 🫡
