I don’t know if this is a valid question
But how do you do this and still ensure you bring something unique to the table?
I’ve seen scenarios where users don’t even know what they want/ or think they know what they do but become open to new approaches

This is the key. 

The problem is this also requires having enough taste to understand what is good and what is mediocre. 

And then being able to be objective with yourself about that. 

But if everyone could do this then nothing would be great vs good.
