Hmm. I think if Bluesky drafting off DNS for verification as a weakness and blockchain based verification + global namespace as a  strength but looks like in general using a blockchain even for an obviously clean and appropriate use requires 10x benefit to convince most people. 2x will not do.

Also, to add more context, Bluesky is currently using a DID method called Placeholder DID which is very centralized (everything rely on their servers). It is intended to be replaced by a real decentralized DID later and they don’t preclude a blockchain based DID.
