seems there are lots of immigrants here (I’m the daughter of one!). some random Qs I can’t shake: 1. what parts of current immigration discussion are the most important to you? 2. why/why not should we distinguish between legal v illegal immigration? 3. who do you think is most affected by immigration in the US?

What a great topic, thanks for prompting the convo. 1. Most important: migration is natural. Species migrate to find the best conditions to live, there are no such things as countries and borders, those are a human social construct.

Countries and borders are based on the need for power and fear of others. We also treat them as static, but, at least in Europe, the map looked completely different not so long ago (depends a bit where you focus).
