I’m wondering if people forget how to find stuff and because if this we’ll see less explorers. Searching for things in a store or web means looking at things & evaluating “is this right?”. If AI or others give us constantly exactly what we are looking for, how are we gonna explore the spaces around us?

There's finding but yeah the evaluating is a big part of it. What is good and relevant info? Is it trustworthy? Just believing some possibly-lying AI program is scary!

Let's turn this now into books. When I was doing my PhD my students didn't know how to use the glossary (they didn't know it existed) and how to search within a book. They're so used to type and wait for the computer to return something. If they don't find the right answer, they give up.

People will forget, actually many of us already have... I think, once we recognize the downfalls effects of certain technology, only then will we be able to do something about it. Instead of exploring because we had no other choice, now we have to choose to explore. 20 $degen
