Spent the last few hours fighting with the Twitter API and I literally cannot get a request through 😠

its because there are literally only 3 available endpoints on the free tier !!

all I want to do is fetch basic profile data (id, display name, follower count) from a username

$100/month would get me a measly 20 requests/hour to the endpoint I'm trying to use

next tier is $5k/month

this sucks

That’s why we gave up on Twitter. We started using the academic twitter api which is a wonderful firehose. We got the script, front-end, everything done and then boom changes to the API killed everything.
