are txns made by bots considered valuable for blockchains? why do protocols or apps call these actions βusersβ or growth marketing, if there are no sybil resistance measures in place?

Depends on how the bot was set up and it's objectives provided in logic but more specific to the second part of your question @ornella I agree regarding top line metrics on performance in growth market and factoring in bot in these figures. There is a lot of focus on just 'building hype' right now and so not a lot of looking deeply into what sits behind it but this is a big focus for us at /poap to manage anti-farming to have really trustworthy data on the memories and experiences shared by collectors.

are poaps mainly used in IRL events? Do you ever see people just entering an event, collecting the poap and leaving again ?

There are some hardcore /poap hunters π€£ so wouldn't surprise me but largely the value of collecting is the shared experience and memento of this with people whether that's IRL for attending events, virtually for joining a live stream like a X space or contributing to a community e.g. GitHub repo, community support in discord, hosting local community meet ups.
