📱 Netflix fined thanks to GDPR The Dutch Data Protection Authority (DPA) has fined Netflix €4.75 million for failing to provide sufficient information to its users about the use of their personal data between 2018 and 2020, thereby violating the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Although Netflix has since updated its privacy policy, it has denied the fine and is considering appealing it. A company like this, with a turnover of billions and millions of customers around the world, has to adequately explain to its customers how it handles their personal data. said DPA President Aleid Wolfsen
