🗣 OpenAI and Meta Seek AI Alliance With India’s Reliance

OpenAI executives have reportedly discussed a potential partnership with Reliance Industries, including significantly reducing ChatGPT’s subscription price in India by 75% to 85% from the current $20 per month.

- Reliance has considered selling OpenAI technology to Indian businesses through an API, which might require Microsoft's involvement due to its exclusive right to resell OpenAI models to businesses via API - they've also discussed providing data center capacity to OpenAI and Meta at planned 3-gigawatt data center in Jamnagar, potentially hosting their AI models locally

- Meta, which previously invested billions in Jio, also discussed working with Reliance on new artificial intelligence businesses, but its standalone Meta AI web app and other chatbots currently attract very few Indian visitors relative to OpenAI’s site, according to Similarweb
