I went to duke.

…I am a Saxon in a way. I’m the eldest of three, legacy Duke grad (parents, sister, aunts & cousins). My dad was in finance... but *probably didn’t do much bad stuff while in finance - but he did have his own little midlife crisis that did shake up our family (who hasn’t had a dad do this tho)

All I know is that seasons 1 and 3 of white lotus have been triggering but I also know Mike White is making statements about people exactly like me /my family and WE NEED MORE OF IT lololol

Fascinating! I can’t say the same but I definitely have some WASP friends whose families seem very similar. The weird incest storyline isn’t doing much for me but the depiction of an upper middle class Southern American family contrasted with all these other well-off Americans abroad has been really interesting

Duke is historically Methodist though right?

Hahah yeah I hope it’s more of a commentary on hypermasculinity and the fragility of it, but yes it definitely is an uncomfy way to talk about it (love Mike White for that tho)
