the lasting outcome of Buy American in the 80s and 90s, was permanent Japanese carmaker production lines in Ohio, Alabama, Tennessee, Canada and Mexico.

Plus some round-tripping of trophy properties in major cities by Japanese companies buying high from Americans, selling back low to Americans.

That seems to me like the best result? Is there a better upside scenario to play for here? Am maybe lacking a bit in imagination
