1. This is an interesting datapoint on the Greenland affair. 2. Paraguay stays interesting, and not because of any ride or die relationship with the U.S. It’s the only American country where an indigenous language (Guaraní) is widely spoken by the mostly non-indigenous population. And — importantly in this case — it’s one of the few nations that recognize Taiwan’s sovereignty.
