Legit question, does the Nuclear industry just not spend money on PR? Or is the negative stigma just that much more powerful than any marketing or educational materials could overcome?

If nuclear is significantly safer and producing less waste and I’m assuming more technologically sound than it was in the past, what do you think the real path would be to get more of the general public to embrace it? Is it a trust issue? Or simply an information gap?

This is a good question.  

I think the nuclear industry has struggled with its PR. It’s also faced decades of stagnation where PR wasn’t really necessary bc new reactors weren’t being built. That’s now changing.

I’ll be curious to see that evolve. Definitely a daunting task to make the boogeyman into a hero, but if the facts bare it out it should be possible. 

Do you think journalism plays a big role in that since it’s largely a public trust issue? Is that complicated by the public trust issues journalists face now (fairly or unfairly)?
