Per a newly released document, France and seven other European allies are pushing for new bloc-wide legislation to support domestic production of chemicals such as: 
-sulfur, chloride 
-sodium hydroxide
-propylene 
-benzene
-toluene
-xylen.

The proposal is modeled on the EU Critical Raw Materials Act that is incentivizing production of lithium and other minerals on the continent, and comes just weeks after the European Commission released its blueprint for the EU's Clean Industrial Deal.
