This chart shows you what America’s energy transition is really about: swapping coal for a lot of gas and a bit of wind and solar. One wonders how much nuclear would have tempered the gas surge if the U.S. had stayed the course after Fukushima.

We have so much work to do! I’m a big renewable believer - where I stand on how I qualify nuclear is tougher - micro nucear grids perhaps? Paired with solar and battery storage. Localize the grid

China seems to demonstrate nuclear pairs quite well with wind and solar. I think it’s good to have diversified systems, and nuclear provides excellent baseload. Certain types of nuclear designs also do off load following features that back up wind and solar nicely.
