I used to run a small local exchange with usdt and usd trades, for every new customer or peer, i always verified identity, with a quick video call and a valid id next to their face
Thatโs why iโm surprised how someone like gaba could work under a pseudonym on a serious project like clanker, without even one video call or basic identity check
I followed the velodrome incident back then out of personal interest in defi, what happened was theft, and i personally believe anyone whoโs done that shouldnโt be trusted again with serious responsibility, it doesnโt matter who the person is or what abilities they have !
In web3, i get that privacy matters, but shouldnโt there be some level of identity assurance, maybe even using zk tech, when large communities and funds are involved ? 4 replies
