I’ve been on a long break from interviews, but this chat with @kaloh_art was a great way to break the silence 📽️ Talking about the developments in web3 since 2017, , collecting digital art, curation of our recent exhibition “Interthinking” currently on display @budapestartfactory in collab with @kepes_intezet , and our upcoming art fair program at Art Basel Miami , from 3-8 December 🔜🫶 Feat. Many artists, recorded at the end of October:) it’s dark in Zurich:) so excuse the “goth aesthetics”

I'm excited to share my latest interview as I continue to speak with digital art collectors. This installment is with great art collector @delronde.eth . Aristotle once said, “The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.” This idea resonates with Delronde's thoughtful approach to collecting, as he values the unique narratives and meaning within each piece. I hope you enjoy reading it! https://www.katevassgalerie.com/blog/the-interview-delronde

"identity space through light and three layers: a digital/analog study, 2024" by @msoriaro installed and ready for the INTERTHINKING opening w/ @katevassgalerie today at 18:00 at Budapest Art Factory. glsl + generative paper + custom wood box w/ 3 sliding frames. Projected on the wall: a selection of works by Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, the Hungarian pioneer I tried to establish a dialog with for this piece, plus algorithmic outputs from my system (projection on this still: Laszlo Moholy-Nagy, "Space Modulator in Repose", 1943). I’m glad to share my interview with one the prominent art collectors in the Web3: Daniel Maegaard aka @seedphrase Known for his early investment in rare Cryptopunks, he has emerged as a leading voice in this movement, taking his iconic “seven trait” Cryptopunk as a symbol which became his brand. When curating a show or booth at the art fair, I strive to create a program that I, as a collector, would be excited to see. My exhibitions often feature exclusive works that have never been displayed before. However, there are certain exceptional pieces, like “Bittercoin” from 2016 by Martin Nadal & Cesar Escudero, that I feel compelled to showcase again, alongside artists who hold a special place in my heart. Today, I received feedback during Berlin Art Week that resonated with me: “Kate, you are brave, you bring to present a program that “stands out” from the rest of the fair and embraces a certain level of risk?!” I firmly believe that the art I showcase is, and will be, among the most significant of our generation, and I am truly grateful to be surrounded by artists and collectors like you. Love the new project ‘The Male Gaze in the Machine’ 2024, @graysonearle The artwork reveals how AI absorbs and reproduces the biases in its training data, specifically highlighting how male desire is codified into digital algorithms.
