I keep learning about ways Robbie was pushing the boundaries before most of us knew about AI art. Among others: - AI video art - AI Fashion line via Acne studios - AI generated rap music - LeWitt inspired generative art via GPT-2 - Model to create infinite pieces in another artist's style https://x.com/randomcdog/status/1801476960633098435 AI Gen Art https://x.com/videodrome/status/1177012430230183937 Acne Studios https://xrgoespop.com/home/acne-studios-x-robbie-barrat AI Rap https://youtube.com/watch?v=N8P3i8gBaVI Infinite skulls https://artnome.com/news/2019/1/22/ai-artist-robbie-barrat-and-painter-ronan-barrot-collaborate-on-infinite-skulls Robbie was incredibly ahead of his time

Hedonistic adjustment to AI advances is mind boggling. If you had told me in 2014 that in 10y we would have: - solved the turing test - ai output for writing/images/songs/code at human fidelity - Computer from star trek (Data is maybe 3-5 years away) And yet, it's a normal Wednesday just like any other back then

AI today feels oddly reminiscent of COVID in Jan 2020. There's evidence of massive change right in front of your eyes, but most of the world is either ignorant or in denial that their way of life is going to be completely disrupted. I don't think we're ready for society's reaction when they finally realize it.

I've been having a lot more fun collecting AI art than gen art lately. Welcome niceaunties to the collection.

6529 and Flamingo have dipped their toes in but doesn't seem like @curated has an AI art position yet. Is it only focused on code based generative art? Curious how you are thinking about AI art @ok @todd

alignDRAW taking off. I think this post and recent Sora release helped a little bit. https://warpcast.com/delronde.eth/0x38614c9d

The recent release of Sora gave me the push to publish a blog post I've been working on about why I think the alignDRAW collection will be seen as one of the most significant pieces of AI art. https://mirror.xyz/delronde.eth/D9Cth71Jy_vsbvZy7ebN2Ua3bLg0EosHa0OKPP8Y2Lg

More than the art, I love that it represents an actual scientific breakthrough, a major civilizational level milestone at that. We literally taught machines how to create images from words. To the techno-optimist in me, this is an incredibly meaningful collection. https://warpcast.com/delronde.eth/0xea540b3b

Beyond excited to have picked up "A stop sign is flying in clear blue skies" from the author of the alignDraw paper. The very first text-to-image prompt and output.

Probably the only "NFT" I'm interested in owning on BTC right now is a UTXO originating from satoshi (raresats). Plenty of supply (satoshi's first transaction had 1B sats), so I don't expect it to be financially lucrative, but incredibly cool piece of crypto history. Most ordinals will struggle to be relevant.

Biggest thing I've changed my mind on recently is that Gen Art will split into "code based" gen art and "ai based" gen art. AI based gen art will go mainstream first, and when most people talk about generative art they will actually be referring to ai based gen art. Time is running out to collect the early ai works.

This bear market is a true gift. I've been able to collect some pieces I've only dreamed of. Have extremely high conviction NFTs are like crypto in 2015. Except it will have even more extreme power law outcomes than BTC/ETH.

Unfortunately, since there's now a reasonable expectation of profits derived from the efforts of others (namely the SEC), I regret to inform you this NFT itself may be a security and I can never sell it ever again. https://warpcast.com/delronde.eth/0x0caef9

Considering a Robbie Barrat, but put off by the fact that superrare token URIs point to their domain instead of pure IPFS protocol links. How are other collectors thinking about this risk for superrare specifically? Since it has so much high value art it may be ok, but there's a chance the links are dead in <10 years

Fantastic overview of how to approach collecting gen art https://www.curated.xyz/editorial/collecting-the-algorithm. Will likely become my goto to introducing new people to the space. Great work @todd and @ok. The linked Tyler talk is a must watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5R9eywArFTE.
