K-Meanearest Neighbors by Helena Sarin and Dmitri Cherniak. A fantastic combination of generative and ai art. A generative algorithm written by Dmitri created thousands of outputs which were then used to train a GAN made by Helena who curated the results. 1 of 3: https://foundation.app/@NeuralBricolage?tab=splits

I keep learning about ways Robbie was pushing the boundaries before most of us knew about AI art. Among others: - AI video art - AI Fashion line via Acne studios - AI generated rap music - LeWitt inspired generative art via GPT-2 - Model to create infinite pieces in another artist's style https://x.com/randomcdog/status/1801476960633098435 AI Gen Art https://x.com/videodrome/status/1177012430230183937 Acne Studios https://xrgoespop.com/home/acne-studios-x-robbie-barrat AI Rap https://youtube.com/watch?v=N8P3i8gBaVI Infinite skulls https://artnome.com/news/2019/1/22/ai-artist-robbie-barrat-and-painter-ronan-barrot-collaborate-on-infinite-skulls Robbie was incredibly ahead of his time

It's an cool collection and I own a piece. It's unclear how exactly it was fully "end-to-end" ai generated. I think the ones minted in 2019 will likely have a premium (collection didn't mint out until 2020)

Yes, it matters. Mainly focus on ETH and reputable platforms. I don't rule out others, but it factors into how much I'd be willing to pay. The main reason is so you know the art and metadata will continue to be around for years.

Possibly one of the most comprehensive lists https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tyDW1939sHlbZU-z0e-PVdjfPsy_Tw4MphdGQfRWF0c/edit#gid=1280481279, from https://linktr.ee/punk3606

Ha ha, it's actually not that deep, but there's no map. What have you discovered?

To me, this counts as GPT4 passing the Turing test. Still an important update that it took all the way until GPT4 to get there! https://twitter.com/tobyordoxford/status/1791030333812383960

Hedonistic adjustment to AI advances is mind boggling. If you had told me in 2014 that in 10y we would have: - solved the turing test - ai output for writing/images/songs/code at human fidelity - Computer from star trek (Data is maybe 3-5 years away) And yet, it's a normal Wednesday just like any other back then

The question is really whether we're in takeoff or liftoff.

AI today feels oddly reminiscent of COVID in Jan 2020. There's evidence of massive change right in front of your eyes, but most of the world is either ignorant or in denial that their way of life is going to be completely disrupted. I don't think we're ready for society's reaction when they finally realize it.

He's my hero. Owe a lot of my NFT journey to him. And yes, it's ridiculously small. I would guess there are <50 people with both the capital and the conviction to hold until 2030. But I actually think the bulk of the appreciation (in terms or raw $, not %) happens beyond that.

Possibly similar to mooncats. Neat piece of history, but ultimately not much more than that? It's also unclear if it was actually fully end-to-end autonomous.

I was in the same boat, but increasingly convinced gen art remains niche. I would love to be wrong of course, haven't sold any gen art. But history is happening now with ai art, and next few years could be pivotal. So huge opportunity cost in spending time/money elsewhere. https://warpcast.com/delronde.eth/0x3df45fc6

It's legitimately the first time I've felt early to something. I know a few of us are seeing something that everyone else is not seeing yet, but will eventually. AI art now is BTC in 2015. Lost robbies selling for 1M was BTC hitting 1K in Dec 2013. A long road ahead, but no question about the destination.

I've been having a lot more fun collecting AI art than gen art lately. Welcome niceaunties to the collection.

6529 and Flamingo have dipped their toes in but doesn't seem like @curated has an AI art position yet. Is it only focused on code based generative art? Curious how you are thinking about AI art @ok @todd

alignDRAW taking off. I think this post and recent Sora release helped a little bit. https://warpcast.com/delronde.eth/0x38614c9d
