If I could tell one thing to my 18 yo self, it would be this: Health matters infinitely more than making money. There's an interplay between the two, but given the pace of longevity tech, you get more expected value out of optimizing for health than becoming a billionaire.

Yes and - unfortunately - no. Obviously health matter more, and I would have been happy to realise this sooner too. That said, health does require a non trivial amount of money, and I'd even dare say more than an average person has.

Point in case: It took me 1.5 years with state insurance to get rid of a Lyme disease + all followup checks and tests (and many 6AM appointments). Now I just go and do whatever I feel is needed without even touching insurance. Need a thousand dollar WGS? Fuck it, swipe the card.

Another immediate point in case: Both me and my friend had a skiing accident in January. I came home, went to an orthodontist, paid, did an MRI scan, paid, went back for analysis, paid. Done and evaluated in a week-ish. Friend went to *same* hospital, insured, took him 2 months+, result is "weirdly healed fracture".
