depends somewhat on the role but in general I value ability to learn new skills even more than current expertise. culture fit is important but heed @alexpoon.eth ‘s warning

the real values of a company are often reflected by team members who have been promoted or forced to leave.

Hiring someone who can’t do the job is silly. Hiring someone who is not a culture fit will hurt the individual & the team. Problem is the most people define culture fit as someone looking like me and with the same background.

Depends a lot on the role, but want to make sure they are a fit for the most unconventional parts of the culture, or at the very least, know what they are getting into.
