Okay, be honest; is eight sleep that great, or is it all paid influencers and good marketing? Iโ€™ve heard convincing opinions from both camps, anyone on farcaster have an opinion/personal experience ? ๐Ÿ‘‹

I researched this space a bunch and went with the bedjet which has worked amazingly well. It's a lot cheaper than 8sleep and way more portable (I take it on vacation). I'm a very hot sleeper so it's been wonderful.

Much cheaper for sure, but less effective at regulating automatically from my limited research. Does it aggressively raise the covers on you? Also a hot sleeper, but donโ€™t want it to affect my partner either ๐Ÿ˜…

we got the dual-zone setup so my wife isn't affected. It's a lot nicer actually now as we can load on all the blankets she needs without me getting really hot haha. It only raises the covers if you put the fans on full speed โ€” which isn't ever necessary.

it works perfectly in my experience after a bit of fine-tuning on temperatures & fan speed. I don't see how 8 sleep would be any more "automatic" given everyone's subjective experience is different

tbh, I think 8sleep etc. all went down the wrong tech fork โ€” people think "cool" so "refrigerator" with active cooling, etc. but that's silly as almost all rooms are cool enough. The body wants to be around ~78-80 degrees or so to sleep so we just need to prevent excess heat/humidity from accumulating.
