3 months later, time to bring back this one. https://warpcast.com/kaimi/0x7e8aab36 are you still predicting underwhelming inflows @mattwalshinbos @nic? I feel like "no-staking is bearish for inflows" narrative is cope, no one that buys an ETF counting on 500% gains cares about 2.7% APY that they are missing out on

Think 1999. Amazon? Facebook? Google? Twitter? Uber? This shit didn’t exist. Crypto is right there at this moment. The deck is always getting reshuffled. At this moment, Ethereum the network is ahead of Bitcoin the network. Bitcoin the asset is ahead of ETH the asset. But we early.

U asked if flows will be underwhelming? The truth is. They don’t know. We are early. So early that the vast majority of people don’t know what Ethereum even is. Just like 1999. No one knew what Amazon was. Now everyone does. This truth gets lost on those of us deep in the rabbit hole.

well they did not know if it is going to be approved, no one knew. These are guesstimates and this is what I am asking about. I am specifically targeting flawed(imo) narrative of "underwhelming because of no-staking-included"

@kaimi
also how can we define underwhelming? I say anything below 10% of BTC flows is heavily underwhelming - considering bloomberg folks are predicting that outcome.

Remember narratives about assets change over time. Amazon is seen as an SOV in 2024. It was totally speculation in 1999 or whenever it started. That’s my point.

My mid curve take on that is. Staking will not matter “initially” to flows on the ETF. The people buying the etf are normies. They just want some exposure to crypto. And Bitcoiners overestimate the market understanding their “digital gold” narrative. The market sees all this as “risk on” not “SOV”.
